Avery Chen - President

Hi! I’m Avery and I’m super excited to be the President of Tri-M for a second year! I enjoy playing flute whether it be in Homestead Wind Ensemble I, Symphony Orchestra, marching band, various honor bands, or the CYS Senior Orchestra. I also love giving back to the community through music as the Executive Director of Notelove, a non profit organization that provides free music lessons to students across the US. Outside of music, I enjoy baking, watching Survivor, and occasionally running. Feel free to say hi or ask me any questions!

Urmika Balaji - VP Internal 

here's my bio: Hi, my name is Urmika, and I will be your Internal VP this year. I’ve been learning Carnatic (South Indian) classical violin for 11 years, and Western classical violin for the past 4 years. I am a regular concert soloist and accompanist around the Bay Area, and I have also performed in the December Music Season in Chennai. When I’m not practicing violin, I like watching TwoSet Violin, listening to Lo-Fi, watching TV shows, and painting. I’m really excited to meet all of you!

Riko Hirata - VP External

Hello! I’m Riko! I am junior and VP external of Tri-M/Forte this year! I used to play piano when I was in elementary school in Japan and now I play flute and piccolo in Homestead Wind Ensemble 1, Marching Band, SJYS Philharmonic Orchestra, and sometimes I collaborate with other people. Other than flute, I like playing some games, listening to music, drawing! If you have any questions&interests for club, or if you have any help for Japanese, feel free to reach out to me!

Arielle Turullols - Secretary/Treasurer

Hi guys! My name is Arielle Turullols, I’m a senior at Homestead, and I’ll be your Secretary/Treasurer this year. I play cello in the Chamber Orchestra, and I’ve played piano for the last 12 years as well. As a pianist I’ve taught students through Notelove, completed 10 years of CM testing, attended the Masterworks Festival in Spartanburg SC, and even played in Carnegie Hall once! I enjoy playing soccer and volleyball, and in my free time I like to read and watch anime. Looking forward to a great year!

Hours Manager - Stephen Tan

Hi everyone! I'm Stephen and I'll be your hours manager this year. This is my third year being a part of the Homestead Orchestra and 10th year playing the violin. I also have three years of experience playing the piano, and I have played the trumpet in the Cupertino Middle Advanced Band. Aside from music, I also enjoy hiking, coding and watching TED talks (or anything that seems inspiring). I love music and look forward to meeting you all!

Elisabeth Floyd - Activities Director

Hey! My name is Elisa and I am so excited to be one of your activities directors this year! I play piano in jazz ensemble and I also compete in piano competitions outside of school! I also love giving back to our community through music. I perform at senior centers in Sky Ensemble, a non profit music organization, every month! Let me know if you have any questions!

Madeline Bakken - Activities Director

Hi! My name is Maddie Bakken, and I am one of your Tri-M activities directors! I’ve been playing piano for 11 years, clarinet for 6 years, and glockenspiel for 1 year. Rohan Venketesan - Activities Director

Hey everyone! I’m Rohan, and I’m going to be one of your activities directors this year. I play the euphonium, which I have been playing for 5 years, in Wind Ensemble 1. Aside from music, I love soccer, reading, and cooking. I’m excited to be an officer this year, and I can’t wait to start!

Alex Wang - Technology Manager

Hi! I'm Alex and I will be the Technology Manager this year. I play percussion in concert band and march the snare drum in the marching band and Winter Percussion program.
